The life of a young glassworker during his apprenticeship and his relationships over the years as his country goes through war and unrest. It is Pakistan’s first hand-drawn animated film. This is truly a reward for a loyal fan. In 2016, my best friend and I read an article in the News about The Glassworker, it really excited us because we have always been fascinated by Studio Ghibli’s work and it was a source of inspiration for us. Now fast forward to 2024 when the film was released, we were already thriving workers and it became the first film we watched with our own money. We did not regret it for a moment, it was worth the wait. CHARACTERS WHO, IN MY VIEW, ARE MOST INSPIRED BY STUDIO GHIBLI: JINN = Calcifer from Howl’s Moving Castle Alieez = Arrietty from Arrietty Vincenta = Seiji from Whisper of the Heart The Rest 😁 I’ll tell you when I watch it next.
